“Here is what the weekend Schedules usually look like:”
Friday night:
Gather at the Rock Restaurant on the Rock River around 4 until 8pm and have food and drinks with a great view of the River.  There’s a boat ramp across the street  in case you want to enjoy the River. You can use the docks at the Restaurant for the evening and just walk a few feet to our tables.

Saturday:
Bring your boat to Preservation Park (see our Google Map below)
Bring a picnic lunch to the pavillion or visit any of the great restaurants in the area.   Boat Runs anytime  - but usually from 2 until 6pm.

Meet for dinner at Benedetti’s Supper Club next to the Park.  Apply aloe vera to your sunburn and get a good nite’s rest.

Sunday

Feel free to visit Kevin’s "Fin City" outside Rockton to see the incomparable collection of strange boats before going home.  If you have any questions about the show, please email.

Our annual Midwest All Classics boat show was held on Aug 13 - 14, 2010 and was a fun time for all. We had around 40 entries including both wood and fiberglass. The Glasspar club was here with a great turnout as well as the Motorheads with a fine display of vintage outboards. Most all our regulars as well as many new faces were present from as far away as Calgary.

There was some confusion as to river conditions, it turned out to have been unrestricted Saturday from our show site all the way south to the dam. Just prior to the show it was only unrestricted at the southernmost area between the dam and first bridge with the remainder no-wake only. A number of us were able to take advantage of the large unrestricted area to get some boating in on Saturday afternoon.

As this was our first show in the new location, we learned a lot and see improvements that can be made for next year including the printing of a schedule of events to be distributed beforehand. Although it does cost something to put it on, the show will remain a no cost event but it might be a good idea to include a registration to help us plan and promote the show. While a casual get together has served us well in the past, it looks like a planned boat parade at 3:00 might be a good addition to the itinerary so I think this is something we may want to consider.

We had a great time at dinner on Saturday and Benedetti's Supper Club put together a special menu printed just for us. A boat show broke out in the parking lot as motorists stopped to check out the numerous great looking boats gathered there.

The new location boasts a double launch ramp, offers plenty of room for growth and has some excellent shade trees available in the event that we don't have two solid months of continuous rain next summer! This year we utilized the large paved parking area to prevent rutting up the park and enjoyed a food vendor serving hamburgers, hot dogs popsicles, soda and so forth next to the picnic shelter.

The restorations continue to improve and impressed everyone in attendance. I hate to mention names since everyone there brought something special and there was much to be admired in everyone’s work, there was truly something for everyone!

Thanks again to all those in attendance, the show wouldn't have been the same without you! We're looking forward to next years event which will be bigger and better with additional events planned for Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

“Thanks To All Participants, Guests and

Attendees.  See you again next year.”

Looking back to last year’s event...

2011 Brings New Participants

We really missed some of our regular friends who had family matters that prevented them from coming.  But.. we were thrilled with all the new groups and boaters who came for the first time.  Be sure to watch our videos from this year’s event  as we produce them.   We’ll post  a slideshow as people submit photos.  Thanks to everyone and we’ll see you next year for an even bigger and better event.
